Contest Terms

Who can participate?

Everybody from age 16 and above.

What should I write?

Write an essay on any aspect of the novel that captured your attention (characterization, plot, themes, critical analysis, symbolism, narratology, etc.). You can write your essay in English or in Arabic. Each participant is allowed to submit only one essay.

How should I write?

Write not less than 4 papers (A4-size) and not more than 8 papers, using 12 pt Times New Roman font (for English essays) or 14 pt Simplified Arabic font (for Arabic essays), with double line spacing. Set the margins of your document to 2.5 cm on all sides. Create a header that numbers all pages consecutively.

You should write in your own words. If you use any references, you have to mention them as an endnote (including title, author, publisher, publication date, and page number). This is to avoid any hint of plagiarism which can exclude your essay from the contest.

In case the above terms are not met, the contest committee has the right to reject the submitted work.

Then, send your essay to infobib@bibalex.org. Please send the essay using the same e-mail address as filled in the registration form.

When should I submit my essay?

From now until 6 September 2012.

What can I win?

For those participating in Arabic, there will be three prizes for the first three winners, in addition to ten certificates for the first ten winners. As for participants contributing in English, there will be one prize for the first winner and five certificates for the first five winners. Winners from abroad will receive a certificate by mail.

The winners will be announced on the day of the final performance of the Drama Workshop, 27 September 2012. All eligible works will be published on the blog of the contest: http://miramar-bibalex.blogspot.com/
